Liner Notes
On March 5, 2007, HY left Narita Airport for the live tour oversea.
Yuhei Miyazato is worried about luggage and the cold weather, Shinsuke Kyoda was upset because he lost his wallet before departure. “Legs hurt” says Izumi Nakasone. Hideyuki Shinzato and Shun Naka are saying they are looking forward to eating the in-flight meal.
The comments they’ve made before the flight have changed dramatically as they tour around North America. On 6th, they arrived in NY, and then moved to Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Austin, Los Angels, San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angels again on 23rd. After 19 days of touring in the North America, they came back to Japan; the tour had re-started on April 9, from Niigata, all the way until April 30 at Okinawa.
Total length of 149 minutes of DVD precisely records the long live house tour of HY.
The whole tour was turbulence, you can say. Some tropical islander suddenly visit -7℃
New York, then -20℃ Toronto!
Troubles started off with the flight delay, followed by the damage of the instruments, luggage loss, and one of the members ended up having a fever!
They have to tackle with language barrier, and each shows they didn’t have enough
time to rehearsal. Compare to what they usually experience in the tour in Japan, the whole environment was harsh. You can tell it by looking at the cases of the instruments― just about to collapse after the tour in the North America.
What was precious about the tour is that the harsh experience made them think more about their performances. They gathered around after each shows and reflect on their performances, pat on each other’s back and re-energize for the next place.
“It took me back to the days on the street, I’ve learned a lot” -Yuhei Miyazato
“I remember good things about small live houses” - Shinsuke Kyoda
“It was exciting” - Hideyuki Shinzato. “I want to put this experience into the next album” - Shun Naka. “No good at all, I was beaten…” -Izumi Nakasone
Words are neither directed nor ornamented; they are truly out from their heart.
Soon after their debut, the live shows they have done so far are all successful.
But the hard tour they have done in the North America had changed the band.
Faces of the members differ in the rehearsal on March 1, and tour final April 30, in Okinawa. After the show in Okinawa, one of the fans said “their faces were different, but their attitudes to fans were the same”
They are young and youth has more ability of absorbing new knowledge. “AMAKUMA A’ CHA” meaning walk around; the experience of walking around will be put together in the new song coming out in 2008…
